Dermaplaning is a procedure in which the skin is manually exfoliated to remove dead skin buildup and fine hairs. A surgical blade is used to scrape the outer layer of the skin which consists of dull, dead skin cells.
Benefits include:
- Minimize the appearance of acne scars
- Help with fine lines and wrinkles
- Provides deeper product penetration
- Makeup applies smoother
- Improves cell turnover
- Reveals a brighter, smoother complexion

No. There are different types of hair that grow on the body; vellus hair and terminal hair. Vellus hair is found on most areas of the body except palms, soles, lips and genital areas, whereas terminal hairs are found on the scalp, underarms and pubic region. The soft and fine vellus hair grows back at the same rate and texture.
Anyone who desires smoother, softer, healthier, more radiant skin. However, clients with active acne are not candidates for Dermaplaning.
Dermaplaning promotes cellular turnover and increases collagen and elastin fibers, so it is superb as an anti aging treatment. The layer of dead skin cells and facial hair that trap dirt and bacteria are removed, allowing for better product absorption and effectiveness. Dermaplaning smoothes, tones, tightens, and brightens skin, creating a flawless canvas for makeup application.
